How do I back up or restore my company file in QuickBooks

      Open QuickBooks, go to the ‘File’ menu, and select ‘Switch to Single-User Mode.’
      Again, go to the ‘File’ menu and by going on ‘Back Up Company,’ select ‘Create Local Backup.’
      A window will pop up, select ‘Local Backup,’ and then click on ‘Next.’
      Now in the ‘Local Backup Only section,’ select the ‘Browse’ tab and choose where you want to save your company backup file.
      Then after completing the verification, select ‘OK.’
      Now select ‘Save it now and schedule future backups’ tab and then click on ‘Next.’
      Select the ‘Save backup copy automatically when I close my computer file’ checkbox.
      After the scheduling is done, click on ‘OK.’
      Give your credentials, and when you are ready to create your backup, select the ‘Finish’ tab.

Method 2: By adjusting your back up settings

Whether to take when you last backed up your company file or make changes to your backup preferences, it is just a few steps process:

     To see when you last backed up your company file
      Go to the ‘File’ menu
      Hover over the ‘Back up Company’ tab
      Check the date and time at the top of the menu
         
     To change your backup preferences
      Go to the ‘File’ menu
      Hover over the ‘Back up Company’ tab
      Select ‘Create Local Backup’
      Go to the ‘Options’ tab
      Make your changes according to your preference and select ‘OK.’
